Education Committee Terms of Reference
The Education Committee is charged with guiding and developing all ANZICS educational activities. These will include, but are not limited to: 1. The ANZICS / ACCCN Annual Scientific Meeting The Committee will act as a resource for ASM Convenors and assist with issues such as choice of themes, selection of invited speakers, staging of satellite and associated meetings 2. Development of National Themed CME Workshops and Seminars The Committee will assist members to develop and run workshops, seminars and scientific meetings to provide CME to intensive care specialists. This assistance may include help with choice of speakers, advertising and registration management. The Committee may consider appropriate themes for such meetings and seek members / organizing committees to run themed meetings. In developing CME meetings the Committee will consider the CME program as published by CICM. 3. Regional Evening Educational Meetings The Committee will act as a resource to Regional Chairpersons to facilitate these meetings 4. Consultant Intensivist Transition Course The Education Committee will be responsible for representing ANZICS in the development of any Consultant Intensivist Transition Course run in Australia and New Zealand by, or in association with ANZICS. If no suitable course is being run in association with ANZICS the Committee is charged with coordinating the running of such a course. 5. Regional Scientific Meetings The Committee will encourage and promote Regional Scientific Meetings run by the Regional ANZICS Committees from time to time. 6. Educational Activities Aimed Principally at Intensivists in Training Whilst the mainstay of the Committee’s activities are focused on full members of ANZICS and the provision of CME the Committee will also take responsibility for overview of courses and meetings aimed principally at trainees, such as the ANZICS Intensive Care Medicine Course.
