This committee has four primary aims:
- To investigate ways to attract Fellows of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FJFICM) intensivists to rural practice.
- To investigate ways to better support FJFICM and non-FJFICM intensive care practitioners in rural practice.
- To investigate ways to allow ICU training in rural ICUs (accreditation of sites, rotations from metropolitan ICUs).
- To facilitate Continuing Medical Education (CME) in rural areas for both FJFICM and non-FJFICM intensive care practitioners.
