Event Information

The Alfred and Austin Hospitals have joined together to deliver an outstanding not-to-be missed symposium dedicated to Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).

The kidney is, together with the lung, the most commonly affected organ during critical illness. Understanding how it malfunctions and why, the risk factors for the development of AKI and how interventions implemented in ICU can either protect or damage the kidney and/or patients with AKI is key to achieving best outcomes.

The committee have put together a group of world-class investigators in the field who have conducted investigations in the epidemiology, trajectory, treatment, prevention, and extracorporeal management of AKI.

The presenters will deliver new knowledge and insights and will make you change the way you think about AKI and the way you treat patients with this condition.

Practical nursing workshops include:

– Advanced Troubleshooting PrisMAx

– Managing anticoagulation – Citrate

– Acute Hepatic

– Failure and Phoxilium Usage
